


The Union Pacific sold the line (after taking over the D&RGW) to Rail America a short line operator who later sold the line onto Iowa Pacific now named the ‘San Louis & Rio Grande’ and after many years of the daily freight beingthe only train (which runs over the pass in the dark) in 2006 a tourist operation started over this scenic line. Here former SP1744 is seen leading the eastbound passenger near Sierra, Co – 26/07/2007
